A while back, I redesigned Hickory Bible Church’s website with a fresh style update and a user-centered focus.
The Project
Hickory Bible Church is a mid-sized church in Hickory, North Carolina. HBC’s website was structured much like the church’s internal organization. It made sense for staff, but wasn’t particularly friendly for guests. I had the opportunity to redesign HBC’s website while on staff.
The Process
Using wonderful, nerdy tools like analytics data in combination with a few UX (user experience) research techniques, I was able to develop a simplified site structure, in collaboration with church leadership, that was more friendly for guests and helping users accomplish their goals. I also partnered with HBC’s elders and pastors to design the Hickory Bible Church logo, inspired by the signature cross architectural feature with the main auditorium.
